Affordable Music Lessons | Valley Music Academy | Waynesboro, VA

 ABOUT

The purpose of Valley Music Academy (VMA) is to provide quality music education to all in our community, regardless of gender, race, creed, or financial resources, while demonstrating that music is a powerful means of encouraging cooperation, celebrating diversity, building self-esteem, and cultivating an understanding of nonviolence and social justice.
Non-Profit

VMA has served the region as a non-profit organization since 2000. Through the generous support of local foundations, Grace Lutheran Church, and community members, we are able to offer tuition at rates 27% lower than comparable programs. The VMA Scholarship Fund is the flagship of VMA's commitment to serving the community by providing access to lessons and classes to children who would not otherwise have the means to participate in high quality music lessons. We provide over 10,000 hours of music education annually, as well as valuable cultural programming through concerts and recitals.

Affordable & Flexible

We offer lessons Monday - Friday until 9 PM and some Saturday mornings.  Daytime lessons are available for homeschool students and adults. We work with families to coordinate multiple lessons and teachers whenever possible. VMA offers convenient auto-payment by credit card and a secure scheduling and billing platform through My Music Staff. All students have online access to their account, lesson schedules, payment history, and more. If you prefer the old fashion way of writing a check or paying in cash, we can accommodate that as well.

Convenient and Secure

VMA is located in the lower level of Grace Lutheran Church in downtown Waynesboro next door to the Waynesboro Public Library and a block away from the Waynesboro YMCA.  Many of our families will have one student at the Y, another in the library, and another at VMA for lessons. Student safety is a top priority - our facility is monitored by security cameras throughout. All of our studios are visible from the central hallway. Each of our faculty and staff undergo a thorough background check before working with VMA. In addition, we offer a waiting area for parents with free Wi-Fi, and parents are always welcome to sit in on a lesson.

What our community is saying about VMA:

Valley Music Academy has been a wonderful group to help foster a love of music with our children. Our daughter has taken piano lessons for over a year and our son just started drums. My entire family's experience with VMA has been quite positive and we as a community are lucky to have this rich resource in the valley.

- Lena F. - parent of VMA student

I love playing with the Super Saxes because it gives me an opportunity to continue playing since my retirement, as well as help VMA. I am especially impressed with the students in the group. The ensemble is a teaching instrument, as well as a performing group.

- Pete P. - member of VMA Super Sax Big Band and retired band teacher

My son has been taking music lessons at Valley Music Academy for more than 3 years. He started in Musikgarten and is now taking piano private lessons and we're expecting to continue taking lessons long term. If you're thinking about having your children take music lessons, VMA is the place to go.
