Schola Cantorum Scholarship for Vocal Performance
Description
Schola Cantorum of Waynesboro was formed in 1996 to give accomplished area singers an opportunity to learn and perform great works of the master composers. Its name, derived from medieval Latin meaning "school for singers," is a testament to the mission of the group, which is to challenge its musicians to master and perform the great works of classical music for the enjoyment and education of the community.
Part of Schola Cantorum’s mission is to foster deep appreciation for choral music throughout the Waynesboro community. Specifically, the group sets aside scholarship funds to support young vocalists in the area who are wishing to enhance their skills through private lessons.
The Schola Cantorum Scholarship for Vocal Performance was established in 2025 in collaboration with Valley Music Academy in order to provide financial assistance to vocal students in their program.
